Lead SRE Ops

What you'll do

• Lead hands-on administration and backup policy configuration for Cohesity, Commvault, and NetBackup environments.
• Manage disaster recovery operations and migration planning for legacy data protection systems.
• Drive operational initiatives for data retention, file recovery, and annual backup certification processes.
• Improve platform reliability by using data-driven analytics to identify and resolve technology bottlenecks.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for major incidents involving data protection applications.
• Implement AI-assisted reliability workflows for CI/CD quality checks, test automation, and operational readiness.
• Establish service level indicators and objectives in partnership with internal stakeholders.
• Provide technical mentorship and domain expertise to engineers across the site reliability team.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on site reliability engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience with Cohesity, Commvault, and NetBackup, including platform administration, data deduplication, and storage optimization.
• Proficiency in observability tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, or Splunk for telemetry collection and SLO alerting.
• Fluency in at least one programming language like Python, Java/Spring Boot, or .NET for automation and scripting.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Terraform, and container technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, and ECS.
• Experience troubleshooting networking technologies and knowledge of storage technologies, SAN/NAS environments, and encrypted local disk backup.
• Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to improve site reliability engineering workflows and validate outputs.
• Experience identifying and solving complex data structure and algorithm-related problems in large-scale data protection environments (preferred).
