As a Lead Software Engineer within the Credit Risk Technology organization, you will join an agile team to build and deliver secure, stable, and scalable technology products. You will serve as a core technical contributor responsible for designing creative software solutions, troubleshooting complex problems, and leading the modernization of the credit risk technology stack. Your daily responsibilities include developing high-quality production code, reviewing peer code, and identifying automation opportunities to improve operational stability. You will also lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams regarding architectural designs while leading communities of practice for emerging technologies. The role requires advanced proficiency in Python or Java, strong knowledge of Databricks and Transact SQL across Oracle, Sybase, or SQL Server platforms, and experience with Kafka, Scala, Apache Spark, and various Business Intelligence tools like Tableau.
Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions to solve complex technical problems.
Lead the modernization and upgrade of the Credit Risk technology stack using industry best practices.
Write, review, and debug high-quality production code in Java or Python.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve system operational stability.
Lead evaluation sessions with internal teams and external vendors to assess architectural designs and technical feasibility.
Lead communities of practice to promote the adoption of leading-edge technologies across the engineering organization.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced proficiency in Java or Python.
Strong knowledge of relational databases and Transact SQL (Oracle/Sybase/SQL Server).
Strong knowledge of Databricks.
Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Knowledge of Business Intelligence Tools, Kafka Messaging, Scala, or Apache Spark (preferred).
