As a Lead Software Engineer - Python/PySpark/Databricks/AWS within the Corporate Technology team, you will serve as a core technical contributor in an agile environment. You will design, develop, and troubleshoot high-quality production code while leading communities of practice to promote advanced technologies. Your daily responsibilities include architecting Databricks Lakehouse solutions on AWS, building batch and streaming data pipelines using Delta Live Tables, and implementing governance-by-design controls. You will manage system design, performance optimization for Spark and Delta, and the integration of AI-assisted engineering practices into the software development life cycle. The role requires expertise in Python, PySpark, Amazon S3, IAM, KMS, and CI/CD pipelines. You will solve complex technical problems by creating scalable, secure data products while ensuring operational stability through automated testing, monitoring, and robust infrastructure-as-code across various business functions.

What you'll do

Develop high-quality production code and perform peer code reviews for the software engineering team.
Architect and build scalable Databricks Lakehouse solutions using Spark, Delta Lake, and AWS infrastructure.
Design and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines with robust error handling and performance optimization.
Lead the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Automate recurring issues and implement tools within the SDLC to enhance operational stability.
Conduct technical evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs.
Mentor engineers and lead communities of practice to promote advanced technologies and best practices.
Implement security controls, data governance, and CI/CD pipelines for all production systems.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
5+ years of applied experience in software engineering.
Advanced proficiency in Python and PySpark.
Experience building and operating Databricks Lakehouse solutions on AWS including S3, IAM, KMS, and networking.
Experience delivering batch and streaming data pipelines using Delta Lake and Apache Spark.
Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching others on responsible AI usage.
AI experience (preferred).
