As a Lead Software Engineer - Engineering Services and Platforms, you will join the Data & Control Plane developer team to build and deliver secure, stable, and scalable technology products. You will utilize Java, React, Kafka, and AWS cloud-native technologies within a microservices and event-driven architecture. The role focuses on solving infrastructure challenges through RESTful API design, containerization using Docker and Kubernetes, and the integration of automated testing and advanced software development toolchains to ensure robust system performance.

What you'll do

  • Develop secure, high-quality production code for both front-end and back-end systems.
  • Review and debug code written by other team members to ensure quality and security.
  • Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve delivery speed and code quality.
  • Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve system operational stability.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical feasibility.
  • Implement complex software solutions using Java, React, and microservices architecture.
  • Manage data processing through messaging platforms like Kafka and cloud-native environments like AWS.
  • Coach engineers on the safe and compliant use of AI tools within development workflows.

What we're looking for

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java and React programming languages.
  • Expertise in developing UI applications and frontend development.
  • Experience with RESTful API design, data-driven design, microservices architecture, event-driven architecture, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience with messaging platforms and stream data processing using Kafka.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools while ensuring security and validation standards.
  • Practical cloud native experience (AWS) and knowledge of containerization platforms like Docker or Kubernetes.
