As a Lead Software Engineer - Backend Fullstack within the Asset & Wealth Management division, you will join an agile team to build and deliver secure, scalable, and stable market-leading technology products. Your daily responsibilities include developing high-quality production code, reviewing peer code, and providing technical guidance to teams, contractors, and vendors. You will drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices, optimize backend applications for speed and reliability, and collaborate with architects and designers on new products. You must utilize Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud, Spring Flux, Spring Security, ReactJS, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3. Additionally, you will work with SQL, AWS Lambda, ECS, S3, Aurora, and API Gateway to build performant microservices while solving complex problems in the financial services domain.
Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
Drive the adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Optimize back-end applications for maximum speed, reliability, and scalability.
Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and external vendors.
Research new technologies and best practices to provide technical leadership across the organization.
Design and build performant microservices natively on AWS using services like Lambda, ECS, and Aurora.
Synthesize feedback from Wealth Managers and Product Specialists to inform product development.
Present and demo technical solutions to users, stakeholders, and various technology groups.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
8+ years of experience in Java development fluency.
Experience in Core Java & EE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud, Spring Flux, and Spring Security frameworks.
Experience in Web UI development using ReactJS, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
Experience building performant, scalable microservices and relational database development skills including SQL and data modeling.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and building applications natively on AWS using Lambda, ECS, S3, Aurora, and API Gateway.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and understanding responsible AI use.
3+ years of technical leadership experience (preferred); experience in Reactive Programming, DevOps, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Financial Services (preferred).
