The Lead Software Engineer - API, AI, and Agentic Gateway Platform joins the Platform Engineering team to design, build, and operate secure, scalable, and cloud-native platforms. You will lead Enterprise API Solution Engineering, architecting gateway platforms and developing API proxies, shared flows, and GraphQL services. Your daily work involves building Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Helm, and Ansible to support platform provisioning and lifecycle management. You will implement CI/CD pipelines and manage security standards including OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, and RBAC. Key technologies include Apigee, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management, Kubernetes, and observability tools like Prometheus and Splunk. This role solves the technical challenge of providing standardized, high-performance platform ecosystems and secure multi-cloud networking across hybrid environments while enforcing enterprise-wide governance and policy-driven controls.
Lead the design, engineering, and operation of scalable API, AI, and cloud-native platform solutions.
Architect and manage enterprise API gateway platforms including Apigee, AWS API Gateway, and Azure API Management.
Develop and maintain API proxies, shared flows, gateway policies, and GraphQL services for secure integrations.
Build and enhance Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and automation frameworks for platform provisioning and governance.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and self-service deployment capabilities to improve developer productivity.
Drive security and compliance standards including OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, and policy-as-code controls.
Design resilient multi-cloud networking solutions including private endpoints, load balancing, and disaster recovery.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Six to eight years of relevant experience.
Expertise in Platform Engineering, API Gateway Engineering, and Cloud Infrastructure within large-scale enterprise environments (preferred).
Strong hands-on experience with Apigee (Hybrid/OPDK), including Platform Architecture, API Proxy Development, Deployment, Operations, and Performance Optimization (preferred).
Advanced knowledge of API Security, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys, Mutual TLS (mTLS), Secure Token Flows, and Threat Protection Controls (preferred).
Experience with Kubernetes platforms (AKS, EKS, GKE), Containerized Applications, and Cloud-Native Architectures (preferred).
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools including Terraform, Helm, and Ansible (preferred).
Strong understanding of Networking and Traffic Management, including DNS, TCP/IP, TLS, Load Balancing, Azure Application Gateway, Azure Front Door, ALB, NLB, and F5 BIG-IP (preferred).
