As the Lead iCloud Insights Engineer on the Services Data Science & Analytics team, you will own and drive the data product and application strategy for a major growing service. You will design and build custom, full-stack web applications that transform massive internet-scale data into interactive, actionable insights for business and engineering partners. Your daily work involves integrating AI/LLM capabilities—such as natural language querying, automated insight generation, and agentic workflows—into data products and pipelines. To succeed, you must be proficient in SQL, Python, Spark, and various web frameworks like React, Streamlit, Flask, or Django. You will also utilize tools like LangChain and scikit-learn to develop automation. This role focuses on the e-commerce and media streaming domain, solving complex problems related to executive reporting, metric definition, and large-scale data modeling while ensuring high-quality product craft.
Own and drive the data product and application strategy for iCloud services.
Build full-stack web applications that turn large-scale data into interactive, actionable insights.
Integrate AI/LLM capabilities like natural language querying and automated insight generation into data products.
Partner with Data Science teams to define metrics, design datasets, and develop automated pipelines.
Architect next-generation executive reporting solutions and self-service tools for business stakeholders.
Set technical direction and best practices for application development while mentoring other engineers.
Lead complex, cross-functional projects from initial architecture and planning through final execution.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
8+ years of experience in Data Visualization, Data/Analytics Engineering, Data Science, or Software Engineering with progression into senior or lead roles.
Hands-on experience building and deploying custom web applications using frameworks like React, Streamlit, Flask, Django, or Next.js.
Practical experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities such as RAG, prompt-based interfaces, and agentic workflows into applications.
Strong SQL skills and experience designing data models and pipelines for interactive applications.
Proficiency with data visualization tools and familiarity with large-scale data engineering tools and aggregation strategies.
Advanced Python skills including experience with AI/ML libraries like LangChain, scikit-learn, and Spark for large-scale processing.
