The Lead, Full Stack Engineer joins the TransUnion Consumer Interactive team to develop and support consumer-facing credit monitoring and protection applications. You will also evaluate and integrate AI and Generative AI technologies, including Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and AI-powered search, to improve code quality and engineering efficiency. The work focuses on delivering reliable digital experiences and solving technical challenges within the credit monitoring and consumer protection product area.

What you'll do

Lead the technical design and hands-on development of customer-facing web applications and Java-based backend services.
Translate business and technical requirements into detailed application designs and drive projects from design through implementation.
Develop and support full-stack solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Oracle/SQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Guide junior and mid-level engineers by performing code reviews and promoting software-engineering best practices.
Partner with production support teams to investigate application issues, troubleshoot components, and identify root causes.
Coordinate software releases and technical changes across teams in different geographies and time zones.
Evaluate and apply AI and Generative AI technologies to improve code quality and automate engineering activities.
Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) into production applications.

What we're looking for

Minimum of 10 years of software development experience.
Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience within the Java and Spring ecosystem.
Demonstrated full-stack experience building web applications, microservices, and RESTful APIs in production environments.
Proven experience leading technical projects, producing application designs, conducting code reviews, and mentoring engineers.
Advanced experience with Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Oracle/SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and jQuery.
Experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins, Splunk, Grafana, SonarQube, Linux/Unix, and shell scripting.
Working knowledge of LLMs, Prompt Engineering, RAG, and AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot.
Proficiency in React, Docker, and Azure OpenAI (preferred).
