Lead Firewall Engineer

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and manage firewall solutions using Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, and Palo Alto technologies.
• Monitor firewall performance and security logs to identify and mitigate potential cyber threats.
• Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain and update firewall configurations, including security policies and ACLs, via Change Management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network and firewall issues while documenting all actions within ticket systems.
• Serve as a People Leader by managing the firewall team, providing coaching, and conducting performance assessments.
• Provide written reports and oral briefings to the Government Task Lead and PMO Team.
• Execute Continual Service Improvement strategies to enhance operational processes and strategic project goals.

What we're looking for

• Must have an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
• Must meet DoD 8140 Cyber Defense Infrastructure Specialist Intermediate requirements prior to start (e.g., CEH, CySA+, or Security+).
• Must have a Juniper, Cisco, or Palo Alto certification prior to start.
• Must have a BS degree and 12+ years of directly relevant experience, or equivalent military/relevant work experience.
• Must have 3+ years of firewall experience within the DoD environment.
• Must have demonstrated knowledge in planning, directing, and managing a firewall team.
• Must have demonstrated knowledge of implementing perimeter and internal firewalls in both physical and virtual contexts.
• Must have advanced experience managing standard baseline configurations and evaluating rules for security and redundancy.
