CVS Health is seeking a Lead Director of AI/ML Solutions Engineering & Delivery to build and lead an enterprise-level AI/ML capability within the Solutions Engineering and Infrastructure organization. This senior leader will manage a Forward Deployment engineering team embedded with IT Operations, Security, and Observability to deliver scalable AI Ops solutions at Fortune 5 scale. Day-to-day responsibilities include defining project scope, building proof of concepts, and scaling prototypes into production-grade systems while ensuring compliance with standards for secure software supply chains and modern distributed architectures. The role requires expertise in Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, event-driven architectures, and advanced AI application lifecycle management including LLMs and agentic AI. Ideal candidates have over 10 years of experience leading enterprise platform development in regulated environments, with a focus on delivering high-throughput inference systems and fostering technical excellence within their teams.
Own the technical vision and end-to-end delivery of agentic and native AI/ML solutions.
Define and operationalize engineering standards for agentic and AI/ML-native applications.
Lead high-performing Forward Deployment Engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Manage proposals, budgets, and vendor relationships to ensure value and compliance.
Design Agentic AI systems that are distributed, fault-tolerant, and support multi-tenant enterprise usage.
What we're looking for
10+ years of leadership in software engineering for enterprise platforms and distributed systems in regulated environments.
Extensive experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives with cross-functional teams in large-scale execution.
Expertise in cloud and platform engineering, including Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, secure software supply chains, and modern distributed architectures.
Proven ability to design scalable, resilient AI/ML systems using APIs, event-driven architectures, data pipelines, and multi-tenant platforms.
Advanced capabilities in AI application lifecycle management, including LLMs, RAG, embeddings, evaluation frameworks, monitoring, drift detection, and CI/CD practices.
5+ years of experience building and scaling AI/ML systems, including GenAI and agentic AI, with full ownership from architecture to production.
