The Lead Data Engineer (Enterprise Platforms Technology) joins the Enterprise Platforms Technology team to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions within a full-stack development environment. Working alongside developers experienced in machine learning and distributed microservices, the successful candidate will build robust cloud-based solutions to drive powerful user experiences. Daily responsibilities include performing unit tests, conducting code reviews, and mentoring other engineering community members. The role requires proficiency in Java, Scala, Python, SQL, and shell scripting, alongside experience with Open Source RDBMS, NoSQL databases like Mongo and Cassandra, and cloud data warehousing services such as Redshift and Snowflake. The position addresses the technical challenge of establishing enterprise-wide technology practices and delivering scalable distributed computing tools like Spark, Kafka, and Hadoop.

What you'll do

Design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions using full-stack development tools.
Build robust cloud-based solutions using Redshift, Snowflake, and other cloud data warehousing services.
Develop applications using programming languages including Java, Scala, and Python.
Implement distributed microservices and handle real-time data and streaming applications.
Perform unit tests and conduct code reviews to ensure performance and design quality.
Manage NoSQL implementations using databases such as Mongo or Cassandra.
Mentor other members of the engineering community on new technologies and tech trends.

What we're looking for

At least 4 years of experience in application development.
At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies.
At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
7+ years of experience in application development including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java (preferred).
4+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) (preferred).
4+ years of experience with Distributed data/computing tools (MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL) (preferred).
4+ years of experience with real-time data and streaming applications (preferred).
Bachelor’s Degree.
