As a Lead Data Engineer, you will join a collaborative team of developers to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions within an Agile environment. You will work alongside experts in machine learning and distributed microservices to build robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences for customers. Your daily responsibilities include performing unit tests, conducting code reviews, and mentoring other members of the engineering community while staying current on emerging technology trends. The role requires proficiency in Java, Scala, Python, and SQL, alongside experience with Open Source RDBMS, NoSQL databases like Mongo or Cassandra, and cloud warehousing services such as Redshift and Snowflake. You will also utilize distributed computing tools including MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, and Spark to solve complex problems within the financial empowerment product area.

What you'll do

Design, develop, test, and support technical solutions using full-stack development tools.
Build robust cloud-based data solutions using Redshift or Snowflake.
Develop applications using Java, Scala, Python, and SQL.
Manage distributed microservices and large-scale big data systems.
Perform unit tests and conduct code reviews to ensure performance and quality.
Mentor other members of the engineering community on technical trends and technologies.
Implement real-time data processing and streaming applications.

What we're looking for

At least 4 years of experience in application development.
At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies.
At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud).
7+ years of experience in application development including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java (preferred).
4+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud) (preferred).
4+ years of experience with Distributed data/computing tools, real-time streaming, NoSQL implementation, and data warehousing (preferred).
Experience with Agile engineering practices and interactive AI tooling (preferred).
Bachelor’s Degree.
