You must have extensive experience in applied machine learning, building LLM-powered applications, and using tools like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and LangChain. Additionally, you should be proficient in Python, system design, cloud platforms, and CI/CD processes while excelling at translating business needs into technical solutions and mentoring team members to enhance overall engineering quality.

What you'll do

  • Design and build end-to-end AI/ML systems for enterprise-wide applications.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate models, frameworks, and tools for AI projects.
  • Write maintainable production-quality code for scalable and reliable AI solutions.
  • Establish strong engineering practices including testing, deployment, and observability.
  • Ensure AI applications adhere to Target’s enterprise standards for security and reliability.
  • Partner with senior engineers to identify implementation risks and resolve roadblocks.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing end-to-end AI/ML applications.
  • Strong programming proficiency in Python with expertise in modern AI/ML frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Experience building LLM-powered applications, agentic systems, and data-intensive solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to design scalable, maintainable, and well-tested services and APIs.
  • Deep understanding of system design, model deployment, and production optimization for AI systems.
  • Strong communication skills to translate business problems into technical solutions effectively.
  • Ability to mentor engineers and contribute to the technical direction and quality improvement within the team.
