As a vKS Application Engineer at VMware, you will join the vKS Application Engineering team to drive enterprise success with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and its Kubernetes service. This customer-facing role involves designing and validating solutions, running proof-of-concepts, and guiding customers through their modernization journey. You will collaborate closely with field account teams to align solution architecture with customer priorities, lead technical discovery sessions, and develop customer proposals that address modernization goals. Key responsibilities include providing prescriptive guidance on Kubernetes adoption, DevOps/CI-CD integration, and enterprise requirements such as scalability, security, and disaster recovery. The ideal candidate has 8–10+ years of experience in application engineering or technical sales for enterprise IT, cloud, or application platforms, with strong expertise in Kubernetes, containers, and VMware Cloud Foundation. Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage both technical and business leaders are essential, along with a deep understanding of industry trends and evolving enterprise requirements.
Act as a trusted advisor to design and validate vKS solutions on VCF.
Lead technical discovery sessions and proof-of-concepts for enterprise customers.
Develop customer proposals addressing modernization goals and operational transformation.
Provide guidance on Kubernetes adoption, DevOps integration, and enterprise requirements.
Build and share reference architectures to accelerate customer adoption of vKS.
Deliver compelling technical presentations to diverse audiences from architects to executives.
Stay current with industry trends and provide field feedback to influence product roadmap.
What we're looking for
8+ years of experience in enterprise IT architecture or cloud-native platforms.
Strong expertise in Kubernetes, containers, and VMware Cloud Foundation technologies.
Proven success working directly with enterprise customers to deliver technical solutions.
Excellent communication skills for engaging both technical and business leaders.
Ability to collaborate effectively with sales teams to advance customer opportunities.
Deep knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation and Kubernetes platforms required.
Certifications in cloud-native or public cloud technologies are highly desirable.
