Knowledge Modeler / Ontologist Manager

What you'll do

• Lead the full ontology lifecycle including requirements gathering, conceptual modeling, formal specification, validation, and deployment.
• Design T-Box structures and develop A-Box hydration patterns for both structured and unstructured data sources.
• Map traditional relational database structures into semantic frameworks using OWL, RDF, RDFS, and SKOS standards.
• Build and maintain knowledge graphs to support reasoning, discovery, and advanced analytics.
• Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to elicit domain concepts and develop competency questions.
• Translate complex technical modeling decisions into accessible terms for non-technical stakeholders.
• Apply ontology governance standards including version control, change management, and SHACL/ShEx validation.
• Execute R2RML or RML mapping strategies to integrate structured data into semantic models.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in ontology engineering, knowledge modeling, or a related semantic web discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience delivering domain ontologies in an enterprise or consulting context.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Library Science, Linguistics, Philosophy, or a related field.
• Proficiency in OWL 2, RDF, RDFS, SKOS, SHACL, and SPARQL for building and validating semantic models.
• Experience designing and querying knowledge graphs using tools such as GraphDB, Stardog, or Neo4j.
• Hands-on experience with ontology authoring tools like Protégé or Ontotext.
• Familiarity with R2RML or RML for mapping relational or semi-structured sources into semantic models.
• Knowledge of upper ontologies such as BFO, DOLCE, or schema.org and W3C standards for linked data.
