As a Java Software Engineer - Mid Level, you will join the Investment Experience Technology organization to build a new investment services platform. The role requires expertise in Test-Driven Development, Apache Kafka, and data warehousing solutions like Snowflake. You will solve technical problems to deliver scalable, digital-first investment tools for members and financial advisors, ensuring all business activities comply with risk and compliance policies.

What you'll do

Design, develop, code, and test complex technical solutions for the investment services platform.
Investigate and resolve complex application and system technical problems and production issues through troubleshooting.
Conduct complex systems analysis to recommend improvements to policies and procedures.
Prepare and install complex solutions by designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
Follow the full software development lifecycle and participate in design reviews.
Mentor junior and peer engineers and perform code reviews for teammates.
Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks in accordance with compliance policies.

What we're looking for

Must have a Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
Must have 4 years of software development experience demonstrating depth of technical understanding within specific disciplines or technologies.
Must have 2 years of experience delivering technology solutions in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle.
Must have a basic understanding of one or more of the following: Java, Swift, Objective-C, Cobol, JavaScript, Kotlin, C++, HTML, CSS, SQL, Go, or Python.
Must have experience supporting efforts to address production issues through troubleshooting applications and systems.
Must have a basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools.
Must be able to work in the office 4 days per week in San Antonio, Plano, Phoenix, Colorado Springs, Charlotte, or Tampa.
