Java Software Engineer II

What you'll do

• Design and develop scalable, resilient JVM microservices using Java and Kotlin within the Spring Boot ecosystem.
• Build and maintain backend services for portfolio analytics, reporting, and trade sizing across fixed income workflows.
• Develop and manage relational database schemas, including writing, tuning, and migrating SQL queries.
• Create architecture and design artifacts to ensure software code meets specific system constraints.
• Analyze large datasets to identify patterns and develop visualizations for continuous system improvement.
• Implement automated pre-trade compliance checks and order management tools for portfolio managers.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools while ensuring the security and accuracy of generated outputs.
• Manage full SDLC tasks including code reviews, testing strategies, and CI/CD deployment practices.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied experience.
• Proficiency in coding in Java.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and SQL.
• Strong fundamentals with relational databases, including schema design, tuning SQL, and managing migrations via tools like Liquibase.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools and an understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Experience working with Kotlin (preferred).
• Familiarity with cloud services, containerization, event-driven architectures, or financial services domain experience (preferred).
