As a Java Software Engineer II within the Global Technology team, you will join an agile backend engineering team to build and maintain JVM-based microservices. What you'll do

Design and develop scalable, resilient JVM microservices using Java and Kotlin within the Spring Boot ecosystem.
Build and maintain backend services for portfolio analytics, reporting, and trade sizing workflows.
Design and manage relational database schemas, including writing, tuning, and migrating SQL.
Produce architecture and design artifacts to ensure software code meets specific design constraints.
Analyze large datasets to develop visualizations and reporting for continuous software system improvement.
Identify patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
Execute the full software development life cycle including code reviews, testing, and release practices.
Utilize AI-assisted development tools while ensuring responsible use and data security.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability in a production environment.
Proficiency in coding in Java.
Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and SQL.
Strong fundamentals with relational databases, including schema design, SQL tuning, and managing migrations via tools like Liquibase.
Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and understanding responsible AI use in engineering workflows.
Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
Experience with Kotlin (preferred); familiarity with cloud services, event-driven architectures (Kafka), and financial services domain (preferred).
