The IT Software Engineer joins the Supply Chain IT team to build, support, and enhance a seamless end-to-end Orchestrator system. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy and software engineering, requiring the candidate to lead requirements elicitation and directly configure, model, and build solutions within an enterprise PLM ecosystem. Daily responsibilities include modifying BMIDE data models, configuring Active Workspace UI screens, designing automated workflows, and scripting validation rules. The position also involves driving AI and Intelligent Automation initiatives using GenAI tools. Key technologies include Siemens Teamcenter, Active Workspace, XML, JSON, XSLT, Python, Shell, and SQL. The role solves complex business problems related to multi-tier Bill of Materials management and Engineering Change Management processes while ensuring robust security and access governance.
Configure and maintain BMIDE data models including business object hierarchies, custom properties, and lifecycle schemes.
Customize Active Workspace declarative UI layouts, JSON view models, command bars, and stylesheets.
Develop and maintain sophisticated workflow templates, rule/action handlers, and validation gates.
Manage security and access governance through Access Manager Rule Trees and classification schema nodes.
Lead functional discovery workshops to translate business problems into detailed Jira User Stories.
Define requirements for AI-assisted PLM features like automated datasheet extraction and duplicate part detection.
Use Enterprise GenAI tools to generate synthetic test data and automate configuration scripting.
Assemble, validate, and test BMIDE deployment packages in collaboration with DevOps and DB teams.
What we're looking for
At least 6 years of experience as an IT Systems Analyst, Techno-Functional Consultant, or PLM Engineer with Siemens Teamcenter and Active Workspace configuration experience.
Proficient in XML, JSON, XSLT, and scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or SQL for data manipulation and testing.
Demonstrated functional knowledge of multi-tier Bill of Materials management and Engineering Change Management processes.
Practical experience integrating generative AI tools into analysis, configuration scripting, and testing workflows.
Demonstrable ability to lead multi-functional workshops and translate business requirements into actionable technical work.
Expertise in BMIDE data modeling, property extensions, and naming/revision rules (preferred).
Experience configuring Active Workspace declarative UI components including JSON view models and stylesheets (preferred).
Deep knowledge of Teamcenter Workflow Designer, including condition tasks and handler configurations (preferred).
