As an Integrated Photonic Test Engineer at Acacia, a leading division of Cisco in the field of high-speed coherent optical transceivers, you will join a dynamic team developing advanced photonics chips for optical communications products used by hyperscalers and in emerging AI infrastructure. Your role involves devising and executing hands-on engineering tests on die, wafer, and assembly levels to support novel optical components. You will analyze test data using AI/ML techniques to optimize device performance and communicate actionable insights to cross-functional teams including Design, Assembly, Test, Qualification, and Foundry partners. The ideal candidate has a strong background in solid-state physics, integrated photonics, and opto-electronics, along with experience in automating photonic testing through programming languages like Python or LabVIEW, and proficiency in statistical analysis tools such as JMP and SQL for complex data extraction from relational databases.
Develop and execute hands-on engineering tests for Cisco’s integrated photonic components.
Analyze optical test data to optimize device performance for high-speed photonics applications.
Use AI/ML for proactive problem detection and resolution in testing processes.
Build optical testing setups and systems for integrated photonics, performing hands-on testing.

What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years or higher level education with relevant experience in photonics.
Expertise in solid-state physics, integrated photonics, and opto-electronics.
Experience automating hardware and software for photonic testing.
Hands-on experience building optical testing setups and systems.
Strong programming skills using Python, Matlab, C#, or Labview for automation.
Proficiency in statistical data analysis tools like JMP and SQL for complex database queries.
