Innovative Material and Processing R&D Engineer, Welding Engineering Advanced Concepts Team

What you'll do

• Investigate new or modified base materials for welding and additive manufacturing effects.
• Develop and test new welding consumables for fabrication of advanced materials.
• Ensure quality and operability of newly developed welding consumables in shipyard environments.
• Conduct research to develop and implement innovative structural fabrication processes.
• Evaluate and qualify new developments in the welding and additive manufacturing fields.
• Design and lead projects from initiation through implementation, including test programs and reports.
• Serve as technical lead on development tasks, addressing metallurgical concerns with welds.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor of Science or higher in Metallurgy/Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering (focus on metals), Welding Engineering, or equivalent.
• 0-5 years of postgraduate engineering experience in an industrial environment.
• Ability to understand basic principles of welding and non-destructive testing.
• Experience reading and interpreting specifications, procedures, drawings, and other documents.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on laboratory experience.
• Familiarity with project management from idea initiation to implementation.
• Basic knowledge of data analysis, statistics, and regression application.
