As a HW Validation Engineer within the Amazon Leo Hardware Development team, you will work alongside senior Electrical Engineers to support the design, debug, validation, and optimization of phased array antenna hardware. You will be involved in the complete design lifecycle from concept through production. Your daily responsibilities include designing automated test systems and fixtures for lab and factory use, executing hardware bring-up and verification campaigns at board and system levels, and performing root cause analysis on test failures to generate comprehensive reports. You will collaborate with engineers to define requirements and participate in schematic and layout design reviews. The role requires expertise in using lab equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters, as well as experience with Mentor Graphics or Cadence tools for the development of satellite hardware components.

What you'll do

Design and optimize various blocks of antenna systems.
Develop proof of concept systems and prototypes for next-generation antennas.
Design RF circuitry in collaboration with the RF team.
Design automated test systems, test fixtures, and factory testing procedures.
Execute bring-up and test campaigns for active antennas.
Lead and review PCB layouts.
Support the design, debug, validation, and optimization of products throughout the lifecycle.

What we're looking for

Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
Master's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
2+ years of experience in hardware design and validation of components, subsystems, and systems.
Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems (preferred).
PhD in electrical engineering or computer engineering, or equivalent experience (preferred).
1+ years of experience using schematic tools (preferred).
Export control laws and regulations, candidates.
