Hardware Development Engineer II

What you'll do

• Translate 3GPP and O-RAN conformance specifications into executable test cases.
• Design new test cases to extend coverage for emerging features and product-specific scenarios.
• Plan and execute functional, performance, conformance, and regression testing on lab setups.
• Triage test failures to distinguish between hardware faults, software bugs, and configuration issues.
• Build, configure, and maintain lab test setups including equipment racking, cabling, and network configuration.
• Develop and maintain Python or Shell scripts to automate repetitive test procedures and configurations.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and maintain test automation health.
• Produce documented test reports and defect write-ups for engineering stakeholders.

What we're looking for

• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylumee.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Communications Engineering or a related field.
• Solid understanding of 3GPP (LTE/5G NR) and O-RAN network architecture and interfaces.
• Experience with lab test equipment including UE simulators, core network emulators, signal generators, and protocol analyzers.
• Experience with debug/diagnostic tools such as QXDM for OTA log analysis.
• Experience with scripting/automation (Python strongly preferred; familiarity with pytest or Robot Framework is a plus) (preferred).
• Strong debugging skills across hardware, software, and network layers.
• Export control laws and regulations, candidates.
