As a GNC Engineer on the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program at Huntsville, AL or Sunnyvale, CA, you will join an Agile DevOps team to develop and integrate high-fidelity models and simulation software using C++, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, and Fortran. Your day-to-day responsibilities include algorithm development for guidance, navigation, and control systems, signal processing, and unit testing in a Linux environment on high-performance computing clusters. You will work closely with the Flight Software team to implement simulations and collaborate with performance critical thinkers to ensure accuracy and reliability of missile defense systems. The role requires strong skills in rigid body dynamics, control theory, linear algebra, matrix math, and experience with Extended Kalman Filters, Euler Angles, Quaternions, and 6-DOF simulations. Additionally, familiarity with agile software development practices and distributed/parallel processing is desired.

What you'll do

  • Apply missile guidance, navigation, and control expertise to develop algorithms and models.
  • Integrate Matlab/Simulink models into a 6-DOF C++ simulation environment.
  • Develop high-fidelity simulation software using C++, Python, and other languages.
  • Create unit tests for simulation software on high-performance computing clusters.
  • Implement simulation software in an Agile DevOps environment with Docker/Kubernetes.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience using MATLAB and Simulink for simulation and analysis of feedback control systems.
  • C/C++ programming experience with strong math skills in linear algebra, matrix math, and coordinate transformation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment and document analysis results effectively.
  • Experience with simulations, physics-based modeling, state estimation, and navigation algorithms.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret clearance for long-term employment.
