GitHub Enterprise Platform Engineer

What you'll do

• Own and evolve the GitHub Enterprise platform to ensure high availability, security, and scalability for thousands of engineers.
• Define and implement platform standards for repositories, branching, code reviews, and policy enforcement.
• Partner with Identity and Security teams to manage access through SSO, SCIM, and role-based controls.
• Build automation, APIs, bots, and tools to simplify onboarding and repository lifecycle management.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response for GitHub Enterprise Server and its underlying databases.
• Lead platform upgrades and migrations while providing documentation and consultation to engineering teams.
• Integrate GitHub with CI/CD, artifact, and security tooling like GitHub Actions and Jenkins.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering in a large-scale environment.
• Significant hands-on experience with Git-based platforms.
• Deep experience coordinating GitHub Enterprise Server and/or GitHub Enterprise Cloud at scale.
• Strong programming or scripting skills in Python, Java, or similar languages.
• Experience using REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and infrastructure-as-code to automate platform operations.
• Experience integrating GitHub with CI/CD, artifact, and quality or security tooling like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Artifactory.
• Solid understanding of identity and access management concepts including SSO, SAML, SCIM, RBAC, and least-privilege access.
• Strong solving and interpersonal skills to work across distributed systems, databases, cloud, or container environments.
