As a Frontier Engineer (Agentic_AI), you will join the Cognizant Forward team to build scalable, cost-optimized, and secure AI-enabled solutions. Working within a small, cross-functional pod of engineers and data scientists, you will develop AI-enabled applications, agentic workflows, and automation solutions. Your daily responsibilities include using AI-assisted development tools to build, test, debug, and deploy software, while evaluating AI-generated outputs for accuracy and business relevance. You will contribute to knowledge systems, retrieval workflows, and operational support while applying responsible AI principles. The role requires proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, MATLAB, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#, alongside exposure to cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. You will solve business problems by integrating generative AI, large language models, and prompt engineering.
Build, test, debug, deploy, and enhance software solutions using AI-assisted and augmented development tools.
Develop AI-enabled applications, agentic workflows, and automation solutions including context and harness engineering.
Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, performance, and business relevance.
Contribute to knowledge and context systems, retrieval workflows, and testing.
Monitor, document, and provide operational support for deployed systems.
Apply responsible AI principles and engineering best practices to all development tasks.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Cyber Security, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
Recent graduate or early-career professional with technical experience from coursework, internships, research, military experience, certifications, or personal projects.
Demonstrated interest in software development, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, data engineering, or automation.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with strong written and verbal communication.
Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, R, MATLAB, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C# (preferred).
Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud (preferred).
Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted development tools (preferred).
