What you'll do

  • Build web applications and tools using React, TypeScript, and modern CSS frameworks.
  • Coordinate with UI/UX designers and back-end developers to create seamless user experiences.
  • Ensure front-end functionality across various browsers, platforms, and devices while meeting security requirements.
  • Implement WCAG 508 compliance and accessibility standards for all users.
  • Write automated front-end unit, component, and E2E tests using tools like Jest or Cypress.
  • Apply performance optimization techniques such as code-splitting and lazy loading.
  • Mentor teammates and lead the development team in learning new tools and techniques.
  • Participate in Git-based workflows, including pull request reviews and CI checks.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in software development with front-end programming languages and web development stacks such as Python, React, Node.js, Next.js, or CSS.
  • Experience with TypeScript for scalable and maintainable front-end development.
  • Experience writing automated front-end unit, component, or E2E tests using tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Experience implementing performance optimization techniques such as code-splitting, lazy loading, or Lighthouse-based improvements.
  • Experience with user requirement gathering to inform UI designs.
  • Ability to apply best practices and WCAG 508 compliance beyond basic requirements.
  • Ability to work in Git-based workflows, including PR reviews, branching strategies, and CI checks.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and 5+ years of experience in software engineering, or 8+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree.
