What you'll do

Build web applications and mission-critical tools using React, TypeScript, and modern CSS frameworks.
Coordinate with UI/UX designers and back-end developers to create seamless user experiences.
Develop front-end features that function across various browsers, platforms, and devices.
Ensure all web applications meet strict accessibility (WCAG 508) and security requirements.
Write automated front-end unit, component, and end-to-end tests using tools like Jest or Cypress.
Implement performance optimization techniques such as code-splitting and lazy loading.
Mentor teammates through positive code reviews and guidance on new tools and techniques.
Gather user requirements to inform UI designs and identify system improvements.

What we're looking for

5+ years of experience in software development with front-end programming languages and web development stacks such as Python, React, Node.js, Next.js, or CSS.
Experience with TypeScript for scalable and maintainable front-end development.
Experience writing automated front-end unit, component, or E2E tests using tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
Experience implementing performance optimization techniques such as code-splitting, lazy loading, or Lighthouse-based improvements.
Experience with user requirement gathering to inform UI designs.
Ability to apply best practices and WCAG 508 compliance beyond basic requirements.
Ability to work in Git-based workflows, including PR reviews, branching strategies, and CI checks.
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and 5+ years of experience in software engineering, or 8+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree.
