Firewall Engineer The Firewall Engineer joins the DISA IT Operation team to support the Compartmented Enterprise Services Office task order. What you'll do

Identify and remediate misconfigurations, security gaps, and performance issues for firewalls and load balancers.
Provide Tier 3 technical support to the operations network administration team.
Maintain all hardware and software components at vendor-supported levels to ensure mission-critical continuity.
Conduct monthly firewall assessments on customer devices and generate reports with recommendations for improvement.
Create monthly reports regarding network device performance and traffic utilization.
Provide expert advice and technical direction for the management of Palo Alto devices in the enterprise architecture.
Develop requirements and strategies for future cybersecurity operations based on identified technology gaps.
Ensure all actions comply with DOD STIGs, DISA orders, and JSIG policies.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of directly relevant experience.
At least 10 years of hands-on engineering and testing experience in virtualized and cloud environments.
At least 5 years of hands-on Cisco and Palo Alto Firewall experience in engineering and operations roles.
Expert knowledge of Palo Alto concepts including Panorama, IPSec VPNs, and Virtual Routers/Systems.
Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with eligibility to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.
Ability to work in a high op-temp, Top Secret environment.
Must be willing to take and maintain a CI/Poly 8570 IAT Level II Baseline Certification.
