The Feature Assurance Engineer joins the engineering team to deliver critical Feature Assurance Engineering deliverables throughout the development cycle. This role involves developing comprehensive feature validation plans that encompass functional, performance, Functional Safety V&V, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements. You will select test cases, determine hardware and software pedigree, and coordinate execution across breadboard, HiL, and vehicle environments. Key responsibilities include leading defect triaging, assessing test results for compliance, and managing JIRA tickets to track issues from development through production. You will utilize CAN logs, Bus Queries, and diagnostic traces to ensure traceability. The role requires expertise in automotive systems such as Battery Management, Climate Control, Infotainment, or Powertrain. You must possess a BS or MS in an Engineering Discipline and at least three years of automotive industry experience.
Determine and provide necessary software and hardware pedigrees to testing teams for validation.
Lead triaging and resolution of feature quality issues throughout the development cycle and in the field.
Assess test results against requirements and document defects in JIRA with priority ratings.
Create and lead Deliverable Recovery Plans (DRP) for non-conformance issues at key milestones.
Develop negative test cases and procedures to address stress testing and edge case conditions.
Maintain a real-time open issue list with full traceability to engineering artifacts like CAN logs.
Create and maintain JIRA dashboards to communicate technical progress and complex issues to leadership.
What we're looking for
BS or MS in an Engineering Discipline.
3+ years of experience in the automotive industry.
Experience with vehicle systems such as Battery Management, Climate Control, Infotainment, Powertrain, Connectivity, Digital Keys, Enclosure, or Seat/restraints.
Experience developing feature validation plans including functional, performance, Functional Safety V&V, Cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements.
Experience leading triaging and issue resolution during the entire feature development cycle.
Experience creating and maintaining JIRA tickets and dashboards to track defects and engineering artifacts.
Experience developing negative test cases and Feature Assurance Test Procedures for stress testing and edge cases.
Experience leading the creation of feature validation reports and DRP (Deliverable Recovery Plan) approvals.
