FEA/AI Methods Engineer

What you'll do

• Design, build, and deploy automation tooling for FEA workflows using ANSA and META.
• Develop AI agents and LLM-based tools to reduce manual effort in simulation tasks.
• Architect scripted solutions to automate repetitive or error-prone steps in the FEA pipeline.
• Integrate machine learning capabilities into daily finite element analysis practices.
• Build and maintain production-quality Python scripts, libraries, and engineering tools.
• Validate and verify automated tools and AI-generated outputs for accuracy and reliability.
• Integrate pre-processors, solvers, and job schedulers through standardized interfaces.
• Manage batch job orchestration and distributed simulation jobs in HPC environments.

What we're looking for

• B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mechanics, or a similar discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in engineering automation or software development.
• Strong knowledge of solid mechanics and finite element analysis (implicit and/or explicit FEA).
• Demonstrated software development experience in Python, including building and maintaining production-quality scripts, libraries, or tools.
• Experience automating engineering workflows such as pre-/post-processing scripting, batch job orchestration, and tool integration.
• Fluency with professional software practices such as git-based workflows and code review.
• Hands-on experience developing or deploying AI agents or LLM-based tools in an engineering context (preferred).
• Proficiency with FEA pre/post-processing tools (ANSA, META, Abaqus) and scripting their APIs (preferred).
