As a Factory Software Engineer (Starlink), you will join the Starlink factory engineering teams to support the in-house manufacturing of satellite constellation components. You will be responsible for the complete software lifecycle, including development, testing, and support. Your daily work involves writing software for servers and products during manufacturing, creating infrastructure for rapid software deployment, and designing highly available, fault-tolerant systems. You will build tools for continuous integration, test execution across virtualized or hardware-in-the-loop environments, and maintain factory servers and networking. The role requires proficiency in Python, Golang, C++, or Rust, along with knowledge of networking protocols, electronics, and radio frequency. You will solve technical challenges to improve factory output and ensure reliable data analysis within the manufacturing process.

What you'll do

Write software that runs on servers and products during the manufacturing process.
Create infrastructure and tools for rapid, reliable software deployment with minimal downtime.

Design and implement highly available, fault-tolerant systems that operate with minimal intervention.

Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a STEM discipline.
2+ years of professional experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree.
Development experience in Python, Golang, C++, or Rust.
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for Department of State authorization.
Solid fundamental knowledge of networking protocols, electronics, and radio frequency (preferred).
Creative approach to problem solving, exceptional analytical skills, and engineering fundamentals (preferred).
Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, and testing (preferred).
Experience with security issues associated with distributed systems and internet services (preferred).
