What you'll do

  • Design and optimize mechanical, thermal, and electrical components using CAD and EDA tools.
  • Build and test hardware prototypes while performing debug and failure analysis.
  • Model system-level thermal and mechanical performance to improve cooling and manufacturability.
  • Develop automation, firmware, and data analysis tools for hardware validation and testing.
  • Apply design-of-experiments (DOE) methods to evaluate and improve materials and designs.
  • Support process development, manufacturing readiness, and equipment IT integration in R&D environments.

What we're looking for

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Advanced degrees (M.S. or Ph.D.) in relevant disciplines are preferred.
  • Experience with design of experiments (DOE) and/or project management is required.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware design, CAD tools (SolidWorks, Allegro, Cadence), or modeling environments is required.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages such as Python, C/C++, or Bash is required.
  • Experience in process development, materials development, or equipment IT support is preferred.
  • Familiarity with firmware architecture, thermal modeling, and optical systems is preferred.
