The Enterprise Storage Engineer joins the Information Technology Operations Department, Systems Division to manage and secure enterprise storage infrastructure supporting critical applications, cloud environments, and on-premise file storage. This role involves designing, deploying, and configuring NetApp systems while managing provisioning, capacity planning, and performance optimization across production and nonproduction environments. The engineer will perform firmware updates, hardware refreshes, and migrations while troubleshooting complex issues involving Fibre Channel fabrics and network protocols. Key responsibilities include maintaining Storage Virtual Machines, volumes, and LUNs while ensuring high availability and disaster recovery. Required expertise includes NetApp Data ONTAP, ONTAP System Manager, RAID, SAN, NAS, and backup solutions. The candidate must possess an active TS/SCI clearance and Security+ certification to manage these storage systems within a complex infrastructure environment involving various hardware and software components from multiple vendors.
Perform hardware refreshes, firmware updates, patching, and data migrations while minimizing service disruptions.
Configure and maintain Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs), volumes, aggregates, LUNs, and related storage services.
Implement security controls and access policies consistent with organizational and cybersecurity requirements.
Execute high availability, business continuity, and disaster recovery testing to ensure system resilience.
Maintain technical documentation including configuration standards, diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in an IT related field (additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
6+ or 8+ years of relevant experience.
Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Experience as a NetApp Enterprise Storage Engineer.
Expert knowledge of NetApp Data ONTAP and ONTAP System Manager.
Proficient working knowledge of network technologies, protocols, and virtual environments.
Strong understanding of storage systems, RAID, SAN, NAS, and backup/disaster recovery solutions.
Security+ certification, NetApp Certified Technology Solutions Professional certification, and NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) certification.
