The Enterprise AI Engineering & Platforms Manager joins the Information Technology team to lead the deployment and adoption of artificial intelligence across the enterprise. This role involves architecting the enterprise AI foundation by defining platforms, infrastructure, and engineering capabilities for compute, cloud, networking, storage, data, identity, security, and observability. You will build reusable platforms, APIs, and deployment patterns while establishing standards for model selection, RAG, agentic systems, and lifecycle management. The position requires expertise in cloud platforms, distributed systems, and productionizing AI/ML/LLM solutions. You will solve the technical challenge of integrating modern AI capabilities into a large legacy environment. Key requirements include experience with Department of War or Defense Industrial Base security environments and a background in data architecture and enterprise infrastructure.
Define and implement the enterprise AI foundation including compute, cloud, networking, and security infrastructure.
Translate business needs into scalable AI platform requirements and technical roadmaps.
Establish reusable platforms, APIs, and deployment patterns for building and consuming AI capabilities.
Develop practical patterns for using foundation models, agentic systems, and RAG within a legacy environment.
Create enterprise standards and guardrails for model selection, data usage, security, and lifecycle management.
Evaluate emerging AI technologies to determine their practical business value and technical feasibility.
Lead and develop a team of engineers and architects to deliver responsible AI innovation.
Drive enterprise-wide cultural transformation to enable the broad adoption of new AI technologies.
What we're looking for
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or Data Science.
8+ years of experience with cloud platforms, enterprise infrastructure, APIs, distributed systems, data platforms, networking, identity, security, and observability.
4+ years of supervisory experience.
Demonstrated experience building and deploying AI/ML/LLM solutions into production and ongoing operations.
Experience leading enterprise-scale technology initiatives.
Experience leading highly technical engineering or architecture teams.
Experience working inside Department of War (DoW) or Defense Industrial Base (DIB) security environments.
Deep understanding of the latest AI platforms, models, frameworks, and AI architectures (preferred).
Strong understanding of data architecture and the role of high-quality enterprise data in AI implementations (preferred).
