As an Associate, Systems Engineering within the Engineering Division, you will develop expertise across datacenter design, networks, storage, grid compute, operating systems, databases, communications, market data, and software languages. You will contribute to the firm's computer and data infrastructure by identifying internal hardware and implementing public and private cloud-based solutions for seamless on-demand scaling. Your daily responsibilities include creating automated testing processes, applying data mining and machine learning techniques to identify infrastructure problems, and resolving application issues through documented error resolutions. You will also manage performance tuning, database queries, and disaster recovery planning. The role requires proficiency in UNIX, Shell scripting, Python, SQL, Oracle, DB2, or Sybase ASE. You will work across the full Software Development Life Cycle while managing Windows platforms using Microsoft Configuration Manager or comparable enterprise systems management products.

What you'll do

Design and develop computer and data infrastructure using internal hardware and cloud-based solutions.
Create automated testing processes, standards, and tools to ensure smooth business operations.
Apply data mining and machine learning techniques to identify and resolve infrastructure problems.
Analyze and resolve application issues by documenting repetitive errors and minimizing operational risks.
Develop and monitor reports to track application health and service performance.
Automate failures and improve system stability through performance tuning and database queries.
Manage risk in production environments and oversee change management processes.
Execute business continuity planning and develop disaster recovery contingency plans.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
Three years of experience in the job offered or a related role.
Three years of experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting application issues using Oracle, code debugging, or log analysis.
Three years of experience in software development using UNIX operating system, Shell scripting, or Python.
Three years of experience designing and supporting database systems utilizing technologies such as DB2 or Sybase ASE.
Three years of experience working with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Three years of experience in SQL performance tuning and diagnosing issues by analyzing query execution plans and setting up disaster recovery.
Three years of experience performing systems management for Windows platforms using Microsoft Configuration Manager or comparable enterprise products.
