Engineering Manager, Service Platform

What you'll do

• Define and evolve the deployment and release engineering systems for Instacart’s services.
• Lead the team in building intuitive, scalable, and highly resilient internal tools.
• Set vision and drive execution for world-class developer experience initiatives.
• Manage cross-cutting stakeholder relationships to prioritize customer needs effectively.
• Navigate ambiguous technical problem spaces and understand end-to-end deployment infrastructure.
• Guide the team in launching high-impact products, particularly those facing developers.
• Ensure production services maintain high standards through detailed design and analysis.

What we're looking for

• 2+ years experience leading and managing engineering teams with a focus on large-scale distributed systems.
• Proven ability to launch high-impact products, especially internal developer tools.
• Strong proficiency in software development using multiple programming languages.
• Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences and stakeholder management.
• Visionary thinking and expertise in building scalable infrastructure and platforms.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and involve key stakeholders efficiently.
• Deep understanding of deployment infrastructures and incident triaging mindset.
