What you'll do

  • Mentor individual contributors (ICs) and lead the engineering team effectively.
  • Work with diverse teams across Reddit Engineering to integrate search capabilities.
  • Manage full lifecycle of storage systems, including provisioning, scaling, and decommissioning.

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years of experience in people management for high-performing engineering teams.
  • 7+ years of backend infrastructure experience with a focus on storage systems, including high-scale environments.
  • Experience with full-text search and vector similarity search (ANN) storage systems.
  • Proficiency in running storage systems using Kubernetes or similar orchestration tools.
  • Strong advocate for scalability, performance, and quality in critical infra systems at scale.
  • High empathy and excellent communication skills to collaborate across engineering teams.
