Engineering Manager, Model & Algorithm Evaluation & Quality, Sensing & Connectivity

What you'll do

• Own the model evaluation strategy including benchmarks, evaluation protocols, and validation of training data and labels.
• Set the technical direction for model assessment and turn output analysis into prioritized algorithm improvements.
• Lead the development of automation, continuous integration, analytics, and monitoring systems to qualify features.
• Identify project success KPIs and build dashboards to represent results to engineering and executive audiences.
• Drive bug resolution across the broader software engineering organization and negotiate with partner teams to maintain quality.
• Manage the end-to-end quality of location intelligence features across various operating systems like iOS and watchOS.
• Hire, coach, and mentor engineers to build a high-performing team and create meaningful career growth.

What we're looking for

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• 2+ years of experience leading and managing an engineering team.
• Experience evaluating AI/ML models, including crafting benchmarks, evaluation protocols, and performing statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in designing AI-assisted workflows using GenAI to automate testing, debugging, and metrics analysis.
• Hands-on engineering background with enough software development experience to set technical direction (preferred).
• Experience evaluating foundation models or LLMs, such as building eval harnesses or LLM-as-judge pipelines (preferred).
• Experience with sensor, time-series, or on-device ML models and their data pipelines (preferred).
