As an Emerging Fraud Researcher, you will join the team to detect emerging fraud trends and behaviors across voice, messaging, and email channels. You will perform independent research using AI tools to identify novel threats while analyzing billions of events to uncover patterns like AIT and ATO. Your daily responsibilities include collaborating with data scientists to create machine learning models, stress testing the network for vulnerabilities, and developing proactive mitigation strategies to protect platform integrity. To succeed, you must possess advanced expertise in complex data analysis, SQL, and data visualization tools to query large-scale datasets. The role requires a background in fraud investigations or security analysis within distributed systems. You will also conduct deep investigations into high-impact incidents to provide root cause analysis and actionable recommendations for technical and executive stakeholders.
Use AI tools to research and identify emerging fraud trends across voice, messaging, and email channels.
Analyze billions of events and large-scale traffic data to detect fraudulent patterns like AIT and ATO.
Partner with data scientists to develop and refine machine learning models for scalable fraud detection.
Conduct continuous stress testing on the network to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
Develop and execute proactive strategies to protect customers and maintain platform integrity.
Perform root cause analysis on high-impact fraud incidents to provide actionable recommendations.
Monitor industry trends in bot detection to maintain a competitive defense posture.
What we're looking for
5+ years of experience in fraud investigations, trust & safety, or security analysis within a high-growth tech environment or large-scale distributed systems.
Advanced expertise in complex data analysis, SQL, and data visualization tools to query large-scale datasets.
Proven track record of designing and executing proactive fraud mitigation strategies to protect platform integrity.
Strong cross-functional incident response leadership to translate security risks into actionable business strategies for technical and executive stakeholders.
Experience in the CPaaS, telecommunications, or payments industry (preferred).
Familiarity with machine learning concepts and their application in fraud detection (preferred).
Relevant certifications such as CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) or CISSP (preferred).
