Embedded Software Engineer, Biophotonics

What you'll do

• Design and execute the embedded platform architecture and system software development efforts.
• Contribute to software architecture definitions and create comprehensive development plans.
• Translate application feature requests into reusable software components.
• Develop software for automation, control, and data acquisition of embedded platforms.
• Create software support tools and associated services for the biophotonics program.
• Execute development plans for both new and existing embedded applications.
• Perform board bring-up and debug hardware using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Manage data acquisition and processing across embedded and cloud-based solutions.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Development experience in C, C++, Python, Java, Go, Rust, Scala, or Swift.
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle including requirements, design, development, deployment, and maintenance (preferred).
• Foundational software engineering experience with object-oriented or concurrent programming languages in an industrial setting (preferred).
• Exposure to board bring-up and interpreting schematics and layouts (preferred).
• Experience debugging using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers (preferred).
• Experience with Unix command line, shell scripting, and version control software (preferred).
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team (preferred).
