TL;DR · ElectroMechanical Harness Lead, Asc Manager

The Fleet Ballistic Missile Avionics team at Lockheed Martin is hiring an experienced Electromechanical Harness Engineer to lead a team in developing 3D concept models of space flight avionics cable and harnessing, advancing them for flight use. This role involves conducting trade studies on design approaches, coordinating between functional groups during the product lifecycle, and managing personnel within the FBM Avionics team. The engineer will work with CAD tools like CREO and Zuken, develop performance requirements, and participate in technical reviews and audits. Essential skills include experience with wire harness and cable design for missile systems, proficiency in Microsoft Office software, and knowledge of DFx principles. US Citizenship is required due to the need for a DoD Top Secret clearance, ensuring candidates can work on highly classified projects related to missile avionics development.

What you'll do

  • Lead trade studies on cable and harness design approaches for technical reviews.
  • Develop and test cable designs, performance requirements, and thermal analysis.
  • Identify initial physical architecture for the Avionics subsystem during R&D phases.
  • Coordinate subordinate employee recruitment, selection, training, and performance assessments.
  • Generate and release design disclosure artifacts including technical presentations.

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of professional experience in electrical/mechanical engineering, including wire harness/cable design.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with CAD design and synthesizing requirements into cable and harness designs.
  • US Citizenship required to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Knowledge of cable manufacturing processes and RF cable design.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
