The Electrical/Hardware Engineering Intern joins a team focused on building connected, end-to-end datasets and workflows to improve R&D operations and decision-making. The intern will design repeatable data pipelines for R&D applications, integrate data from multiple sources, and develop validation methods to ensure quality and consistency. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating Python and SQL solutions to streamline engineering workflows, applying AI and machine learning methods to experimental data to identify patterns, and documenting technical results. The role requires proficiency in Python, SQL, SQL Server, and data pipeline concepts, along with experience in data analysis, visualization, and software development principles. Candidates will utilize tools such as Pipeline Pilot and GitHub Copilot while collaborating with engineering and software stakeholders to solve complex problems regarding data integration and automated insight generation within the research and development lifecycle.
Design and build connected datasets and repeatable data pipelines for R&D applications.
Integrate data from multiple sources to improve data-joining processes.
Develop validation methods to ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability.
Create Python and SQL solutions to streamline engineering workflows and reduce manual tasks.
Apply AI and machine learning methods to experimental data to identify patterns and generate insights.
Document technical solutions, results, and recommended process improvements.
What we're looking for
Must be currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
Must be enrolled full-time at an accredited university.
Must have no more than 24 months of professional work experience related to the role (excluding internships, teaching assistance, research, or military service).
Must be eligible to work in the United States and not require sponsorship in the future.
Experience with programming, data analysis, databases, or engineering data workflows.
Understanding of data integration, validation, and software-development principles.
Proficiency in Python and SQL.
Knowledge of AI/ML, data visualization, and tools like Pipeline Pilot or GitHub Copilot (preferred).
