As an Electrical Principal Engineer – Cables & Optics, you will join the Cables & Optics team to drive the qualification, deployment, and technology strategy for high-speed optical and copper interconnect solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring the interoperability of optical transceivers, DACs, AECs, ACCs, and AOCs across server-to-switch, switch-to-switch, and rack-to-rack deployments. Your daily work involves performing system-level testing, troubleshooting root causes for connectivity issues, and collaborating with hardware, software, and supplier teams to resolve complex challenges. What we're looking for
8+ years of experience in high-speed networking, optical transceivers, cable technologies, and datacenter infrastructure.
Expertise in rack-scale and system-level connectivity solutions for AI, cloud, and high-performance computing networks.
Deep understanding of optical and copper interconnects including DAC, AEC, AOC, OSFP, QSFP-DD, and co-packaged optics.
Proven experience defining qualification strategies, interoperability requirements, and deployment guidelines for large-scale datacenter environments.
Strong technical leadership skills to drive cross-functional alignment across hardware, software, architecture, suppliers, and operations teams.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex system-level issues involving cables, optics, NICs, switches, and AI networking infrastructure.
BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field (MS or PhD preferred).
Experience with AI, HPC, InfiniBand, Ethernet fabrics, and liquid-cooled deployments (preferred); established relationships within the datacenter connectivity ecosystem (preferred).
