As an Elastic Observability Engineer on our Cloud Operations team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and expanding our Application Performance Monitoring solution. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in observability or IT operations, proficiency in Linux/Unix administration, and a solid understanding of the Elastic Stack including Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Logstash. Additionally, knowledge of scripting languages like Bash and Python, as well as familiarity with tools such as Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes, is essential for this role.

What you'll do

  • Respond to alerts, diagnose issues, and resolve incidents for monitoring systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Elasticsearch clusters, pipelines, and Fleet regularly.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including service restarts and configuration updates.
  • Validate data completeness and ensure ECS alignment in log, metric, and trace data.
  • Create and maintain Kibana dashboards to support platform monitoring and visibility.
  • Escalate actionable details during incidents to SRE, DevOps, and Security teams.

What we're looking for

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in observability, monitoring, logging, or IT operations.
  • Proficient in Linux/Unix administration, patching, networking basics, LVM, and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of the Elastic Stack including Elasticsearch, Kibana, Fleet, APM, Logstash.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using Bash, Ansible, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Understanding of observability concepts, monitoring practices, and dashboard creation.
  • Familiarity with OpenTelemetry (OTEL) or Application Performance Management (APM).
  • Knowledge of infrastructure tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, RabbitMQ.
