This role involves leading architecture reviews, translating business requirements into robust system designs, and guiding engineering teams on approved hosting models across Kubernetes clusters, web applications, and shared cloud platforms. The engineer will work closely with various internal teams to assess application architectures for resiliency and validate the use of approved cloud services. They will also create reference architectures, mentor engineers, and support AI-driven automation of architecture reviews. Ideal candidates have over 15 years of experience in system engineering and deep expertise in enterprise security patterns, Kubernetes, APIs, and managed data services, along with strong communication skills to provide executive-ready assessments and recommendations.

What you'll do

Lead system design and architecture reviews for enterprise applications and platforms.
Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, resilient end-to-end designs.
Evaluate logical architectures against CVS Health security and compliance patterns.
Guide engineering teams on approved hosting models across cloud and Kubernetes.
Assess application architectures for resiliency tier expectations including RTO/RPO.
Provide architecture gap assessments and remediation plans for application teams.
Mentor engineers in system design, resiliency engineering, and enterprise solution patterns.

What we're looking for

15+ years of experience in software engineering, system architecture, and enterprise platforms.
Deep expertise in designing large-scale enterprise applications and distributed systems across cloud environments.
Strong knowledge of resiliency engineering principles including disaster recovery and high availability designs.
Extensive experience evaluating and guiding cloud-native architectures on Azure, GCP, AWS, and on-premises.
Ability to mentor engineers and architects in system design and enterprise solution patterns.
