The Director of IT Controls at Compass Group USA will report to the SVP, Risks and Controls and play a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening the company’s IT control environment. This hands-on leadership position focuses on aligning North American controls with UK Corporate Reform compliance while developing and maintaining risk-based SOX testing strategies for key systems and infrastructure. Daily responsibilities include planning, executing, and overseeing ITGC and ITAC testing cycles, evaluating control design and operating effectiveness, and coordinating with external auditors to ensure alignment and issue resolution. The ideal candidate will have 10-12+ years of experience in IT audit or SOX compliance, deep expertise in IT controls within a SOX-regulated environment, and proficiency in GRC tools and automation. They should possess strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills to drive change across the decentralized organization while ensuring effective control practices that support risk-aware technology operations.
Lead planning, testing, and execution of UKCR and SOX ITGC and ITAC testing cycles.
Develop risk-based SOX testing strategy for key systems, applications, and infrastructure.
Evaluate design and operating effectiveness of IT controls across various domains.
Coordinate with SVP, Risk & Controls and external auditors to ensure alignment on scope and issues.
Provide actionable guidance on remediation strategies for control deficiencies.
Serve as a liaison between IT, Internal Audit, External Audit, and Finance on SOX-related matters.
What we're looking for
10+ years of experience in IT audit, SOX compliance, or IT risk management.
Deep expertise in testing ITGCs and ITACs within a SOX-regulated environment.
Strong understanding of control frameworks like COSO and COBIT.
Proven ability to manage SOX testing programs and work with external auditors.
Demonstrated skill in assessing and remediating control deficiencies.
Leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
