The Director, External Data Acquisition and Delivery joins the Clinical Data Management team to provide senior leadership for vendor and provider oversight regarding data and technology. This role involves shaping how laboratory, biomarker, eCOA, imaging, genomics, and digital health data are acquired, reconciled, and delivered with quality and speed. Key responsibilities include setting strategic directions for external data integration, owning portfolio-level governance for data integrity, and guiding data transfer specifications. The position requires managing a global team to ensure processes remain inspection-ready and compliant with ICH-GCP and 21 CFR Part 11. Candidates must possess expertise in CDISC standards and EDC platforms like Medidata Rave, Veeva, or Oracle InForm to solve complex clinical data management problems across multiple therapeutic areas.
Set the strategic direction for external data acquisition, integration, and reconciliation across all therapeutic areas.
Own portfolio-level governance of external data quality, data integrity, and risk management.
Manage the clinical data management model including vendor qualification, onboarding, and performance monitoring.
Guide the development of Data Transfer Specifications and external data management plans.
Establish EDC-to-vendor reconciliation standards to ensure inspection readiness and compliance with ICH-GCP and 21 CFR Part 11.
Advance new data capabilities, digital health technologies, and automation in partnership with technology teams.
Lead, coach, and develop a global team of managers and specialists.
Represent the company in industry forums such as CDISC and SCDM.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Science, Health, Mathematics, Computing, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
Advanced degree in a related field (preferred).
12+ years of progressive experience in clinical data acquisition, clinical data management, or external data operations.
5+ years of people leadership experience, including managing managers or senior professionals.
Experience leading external data vendor oversight, data transfer specification governance, and external data reconciliation in a regulated environment.
Advanced knowledge of ICH-GCP, 21 CFR Part 11, CDISC standards, and EDC platforms such as Medidata Rave, Veeva, or Oracle InForm.
Society of Clinical Data Management or ACRP-CP certification (recommended).
