Director, Data Science - Consumer and Developer Experience (Remote-Eligible) joins a team focused on transforming everyday banking into real-time, intelligent products. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver customer-centric products. You will build machine learning models through all phases of development, including design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation. The position requires leveraging a broad technology stack including Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, and Spark to extract insights from massive volumes of numeric and textual data. Key responsibilities involve performing large-scale data analysis, designing A/B tests, and applying techniques such as clustering, classification, sentiment analysis, time series, and deep learning to solve complex business problems and improve financial well-being for customers.

What you'll do

  • Build machine learning models through all phases of development including design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation.
  • Leverage a broad technology stack including Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, and Spark to extract insights from large datasets.
  • Analyze and combine data from a variety of sources and structures to solve big, undefined problems.
  • Translate complex technical work into tangible business goals for stakeholders.
  • Design and analyze A/B tests to measure the effectiveness of products and models.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies and state-of-the-art methods to apply to business needs.
  • Develop and deploy AI/ML models in production environments using open-source tools and cloud platforms.

What we're looking for

  • Must have a Bachelor's in a quantitative field plus 9 years of data analytics experience, a Master's plus 7 years, or a PhD plus 4 years.
  • Must have at least 4 years of experience leveraging open source programming languages for large scale data analysis.
  • Must have at least 4 years of experience building and deploying AI/ML models in production.
  • Must have at least 4 years of experience designing and analyzing A/B tests.
  • Must have experience with clustering, classification, sentiment analysis, time series, and deep learning.
  • Must have experience with Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, and Spark.
  • PhD in a STEM field plus 5 years of experience in data analytics (preferred).
  • At least 1 year of experience with AWS, 3 years of people management, 5 years of Python/Scala/R, and 5 years of machine learning experience (preferred).
