As a DevOps Backend Engineer on the Software Factory team, you will pipeline software development from requirements through production testing while integrating automation and cloud resources to minimize repetitive tasks for developers. You will build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines, design cloud-native solutions, and develop backend applications, APIs, microservices, and integration services. The role requires expertise in Python, Java, C#/.NET, Go, or Node.js, along with proficiency in Terraform and scripting languages like Linux Shell or PowerShell. You will utilize tools such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Ansible, Kubernetes, and Docker to manage infrastructure and deployments. The work involves solving complex problems in mission-critical environments, including cloud migration, application modernization, and managing technical stacks across various cloud providers like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OCI, or Cloud One.
Design, test, and program critical applications for clients.
Pipeline software development from initial requirements through testing in production.
Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, testing, security scanning, and multi-environment deployments.
Develop and support backend applications, APIs, microservices, and automation services using various programming languages.
Automate infrastructure, deployments, and monitoring using Terraform and scripting languages like Python or Shell.

Utilize containers and Kubernetes to manage and deploy scalable applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to open-source and commercial tools in government cloud environments.
What we're looking for
5+ years of experience delivering DevOps or DevSecOps solutions for complex enterprise or mission-critical environments.
3+ years of experience developing and supporting backend applications, APIs, microservices, integrations, and automation services using Python, Java, C#/.NET, Go, or Node.js.
Experience designing and implementing cloud-native solutions on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OCI, or Cloud One.
Experience building and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
Experience using Terraform and scripting languages like Python, Linux Shell, or PowerShell to automate infrastructure and operations.
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Master's degree, Security+ Certification, and experience with Ansible, Kubernetes, and Docker (preferred).
