Datacenter Engineer

What you'll do

• Maintain servers, storage appliances, and network switches by replacing failed components.
• Monitor datacenter environmental conditions and remediate issues to meet performance targets.
• Plan and execute new equipment deployments considering power, cooling, and network capacity.
• Orchestrate and automate infrastructure to integrate with the Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) system.
• Participate in a regular on-call rotation to support infrastructure needs.
• Securely dispose of all retired hardware and equipment.

What we're looking for

• Maintain servers, storage appliances, and network switches, including orchestrating the replacement of failed components.
• Plan and execute new equipment deployments considering power, cooling, and network capacity.
• Orchestrate and automate infrastructure to integrate with DCIM.
• Be familiar with datacenter infrastructure components including power distribution, cooling systems, and layout techniques.
• Understand structured cabling techniques and be able to manage and terminate fiber optic cables.
• Have experience building computers, replacing components, and troubleshooting hardware.
• Have experience with copper and fiber-based networks and know how to use testing equipment like Fluke or Viavi.
• Have experience with Jira or a similar ticketing system.
• Have software engineer or scripting experience.
• Experience managing Linux systems (preferred).
• Experience managing Cisco switches (CCNA) (preferred).
• Experience with Kubernetes (preferred).
• Electrical/Mechanical background (preferred).
• IBEW Low-voltage training (preferred).
